In 2017, four leading Montreal dance organizations will be energizing the Quartier des spectacles

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, Tangente, the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal and Agora de la danse will be taking up residency in the Wilder Building. Renovated and expanded, the edifice will be equipped with infrastructures meeting international standards: equipment and facilities that are indispensable for positioning Montreal and Quebec as world leaders in dance creation and innovation.

One address, the best of dance.

Espace Danse in the Wilder Building

Welcome on the website of the Espace Dance of the Wilder Building, specializing in dance and located at the Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal. Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, the Agora de la danse, Tangente and the École de danse contemporaine de Montreal are proud to present their new premises. Expanded, renovated and adapted to the specific needs of the field of dance, the new space will host in 2016 amateurs and professionals.
Although they will be all gathered under one roof, you must know that each of these four dance organizations still keep their expertise. Children, adolescents, and adults can enroll in diversified and specialized dance programs. There will be something in it for everyone.
Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal will continue to devote itself to developing ballet in all its forms and to illuminate stages worldwide. Tangente will always be entirely devoted to contemporary dance, and the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal will always train professionals in contemporary dance. For its part, the Agora de la danse will remain the place of creation, experimentation and innovation that we love so much.
So why this urgent need to consolidate?
This dance gathering at the Espace Danse of the Wilder Building will propel clinical research and social innovation in dance at high levels of efficiency. To increase exchanges, the building will promote collaboration to be updated in the field of dance. Moreover, it will also be an incredible artistic showcase for dance in Montreal.
Let us make Montreal and the Quartier des spectacles the global hub of creativity and innovation in dance.
The first center of its kind in the world, the dance-therapy Center helps people in need since 2013, by offering an addition to their psychotherapy. Those feeling alone, isolated or sedentary may find comfort through our therapy program offered at the Espace dance of the Wilder Building.
How can you help us achieve this great social project? You can actively participate in our major fundraising campaign ensured by Danièle Henkel. Indeed, we invite the community to make use of their philanthropy.
Contribute to our fundraising campaign to make this dream possible.
